About NameScroller

NameScroller is a brand-name discovery tool for people who need a name and a matching .com without spending days on it. It generates short, invented names, checks that the .com is free, and hands you the decision one name at a time.

Who it's for

It is built for founders, indie makers, and anyone starting something that needs a name: a startup, a side project, a product, a studio, a newsletter. If you have felt the specific stall of a good idea with no name and no free domain, this is for that moment.

You do not need to be a branding expert. The tool does the generating and the availability checking; you bring the taste and make the call.

How it decides

Names are generated from the phonetics of a language rather than pulled from a dictionary, so they read as fresh and brandable. Each one is filtered for anything offensive or unusable, scored on readability and sound, and evaluated for brand fit before it earns a place in the feed.

Availability is verified against the live domain registry, and rechecked over time. The result is a stream of names that are pronounceable, distinctive, and registrable right now — the three things that usually don't line up at once.

Names in more than one language

Sound is not universal. A name built from English phonetics lands differently from one built on Portuguese or Spanish sonorities, so NameScroller can generate from different linguistic inspirations and is available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

What we're honest about

A found name is a starting point, not a cleared one. NameScroller confirms a .com is available and that a word works as a name; it does not run trademark or legal clearance, which are separate and depend on your industry and country.

Availability can change between the moment a name is shown and the moment you register it. We check in real time and recheck on a schedule, but the final confirmation always happens at your registrar.

Who builds it

NameScroller is made by Pedro Monego, who writes about the process behind generating, filtering, and evaluating names. You can read more about the method and the articles on the author page.
